Hello
Welcome to my website where you’ll find more information about me and my books.
My novels are set in the early part of the Twentieth century, a time of tumultuous change and social upheaval, and the dawn of a new era for women. Though still constrained by gender and status, inhibited by custom and lack of education, these are the women I endeavour to give voice to.
… Clarissa (The Last Summer), Cora and Sylvia (The Memory of Lost Senses), Daisy and Mabel (The Snow Globe) and Pearl and Ottoline (The Echo of Twilight) were all inspired by real women, and real lives. Their voices may belong to another era, but I hope their stoicism, frustration and, sometimes, sadness, as well as their humour, wit and ingenuity, resonate with readers today.
With love,

The Echo of Twilight
Set in London, Northumberland and the Highlands of Scotland, this is the story of Pearl and Ottoline: an unlikely friendship forged in extraordinary times, bound in secrets and lies, and a search for the truth.
“Kinghorn has created an enchanting atmospheric work of historical fiction that is a rich blend of Downton Abbey and Jane Eyre.”
